Sheffield Wednesday have been accused of ‘giving players away’ following a speculated deal with Bristol City for right-back Jack Hunt.
A tweet from local Sheffield Star journalist Dom Howson on Wednesday evening suggested that a deal was imminent and agreement had been struck for a fee around the £1.6million mark.
Jack Hunt is on the brink of joining Bristol City in a deal worth around £1.6m. Understand the #SWFC defender has travelled to Ashton Gate to undergo a medical tonight.

He claimed that 27-year-old Hunt was in Bristol for a medical on Wednesday evening and the expectation was that the deal would be announced and confirmed ahead of Friday. Having made the switch to Crystal Palace back in 2013, he failed to make an appearance for them after sustaining a serious injury and when back to fitness he spent the next few years out on loan for game time.
In 2015/16 he arrived at Hillsborough on a season-long loan and impressed making 40 appearances across all competitions and the following summer they signed him on a permanent basis. In the last two season’s he’s made a further 68 appearances for the club – with 34 of them coming last year.
With reports of a possible interest from Lee Johnson in the player only hitting the rumour mill this week, it’s certainly progressed at a fair old pace, so I wouldn’t expect the announcement of his arrival to be too far off.
