Bristol City have revealed today that promising full-back Andre Blackman has left Ashton Gate by ‘mutual consent’.

Blackman, 18, only penned a two-year deal in June after leaving Premiership strugglers Portsmouth in search of regular first-team football.

But, as we exclusively revealed to you last week, the ex-Arsenal trainee has had his contract torn up with immediate effect following several warnings about his conduct.

Manager Gary Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: ‘It has been a mutual agreement to cancel his contract. We wish him well for the future.’

City won’t disclose the breach of discipline publicly but it unclear whether he was dismissed for allegedly being caught driving without a licence and insurance, having previously been warned by the club, or the fact that he disobeyed clear tactical instructions in training by going down the left-wing at pace and whipping in a dangerous cross from the bye-line!

His departure will come as a shock to City fans as it now leaves us without any natural left-sided attacking outlet in the squad.
