The statistics made similar reading to the game at Sheffield United last weekend. City managed just eight shots on target this time though compared to the ten at Bramall lane. The difference was that three of them were finished as City ran out comfortable winners.

Selected quotes from Bristol City World

Gary Johnson:
We had to get our confidence back, we had to get some goals back, we had to get our football back, and we did all that today. It would have been lovely to have gone up automatic but that wouldn’t have been half as much fun. You’ve got to go into the games (play offs) full of confidence. We could be ready just at the right time. Maybe I am one of them lucky managers, and the harder I work, the luckier I get.

Lee Trundle: It’s nice to get a little tap in it sets you up for the rest of the game and fills you with confidence. The fans know what we’ve acheived this season and they’ve played a massive part.

Michael McIndoe: It means absolutely nothing unless we win it. If you finish 20th, 17th, 8th or lose out in the play offs the result is the same, you all start in the same division next season. There’s only one goal at the moment and that’s to go on and win it. For me this week was all about justifying my move from leaving Wolverhampton. So anyone who looked and said it was a crazy move can think again. Not from a bad point of view but just for myself, I needed to know that the move was justifiable, and the answers on paper now so there we go.

Matty Hill: I wasn’t expecting such a welcome. Fantastic. Brilliant. The lads stitched me up making me run out on my own. I’m very tired; it was my first game in five or six and I’m thankful to the gaffer for letting me play here.
