In theory, Bristol City could make a bold move up the table tonight if they overcome Millwall at the New Den.
However, the Lions will be looking for the maximum points that could take them to within a point of Leeds United who, at the time of writing, occupy the last play off place.
City and Millwall had quite contrasting results over the weekend. The Lions won a play-off chasing six-pointer against Leeds, while City were on the wrong end of some poor refereeing decisions as they went down 4-2 at Barnsley.
18,306 saw the game at Ashton Gate between these two clubs on the opening day of the season and the newly-promoted Bermondsey-based outfit handed out 3-0 spanking to give the Robins a very poor start to the campaign.
City boss Keith Millen speaks to bcfc.co.uk:
“We’ll have to deal with the atmosphere at Millwall because their supporters really are their twelfth man. It’s a hostile atmosphere we’ll have to deal with.”
The Lions will check on striker Kevin Lisbie, who hobbled off during the game with Leeds on Saturday.
Manager Kenny Jackett welcomes back defender Alan Dunne after a two-match ban, and he could replace Jack Smith at right-back.
Fellow defender Darren Purse (calf) and midfielder Jimmy Abdou (knee) returned from their recent lay-offs on the bench on Saturday they could both be have a part to play from the bench.
The 27-year-old striker has found the net 17 times so far this season and has scored in his last two outings.
City midfielder Cole Skuse has recovered from a toe injury and could return to the starting line-up.
Striker Jon Stead may also be given a start having been left on the bench for the last two games.
Defender Damion Stewart will undergo a late test on an ankle injury pthe forced the Jamaican to miss the 4-2 defeat at Oakwell on Saturday.
Left-back Jamie McAllister, who was forced off with cramp during that game, is expected to be fit.
Six goals in eight Championship games proves the City striker is in red-hot form right now.
– Millwall are unbeaten in their last five matches, winning four of them.
– They are hoping to climb back into the top six for the first time since September.
– They have the best first-half record in the Championship; if matches ended after 45 minutes, they would top the table with 65 points.
– Bristol City are aiming for a seventh win in nine outings.
– They have conceded seven goals in their last two away matches, losing 3-1 at Norwich and 4-2 at Barnsley.
– The Robins have gone 13 matches without a draw, longer than any other Championship side.

City will be hoping to get back to winning ways after Saturday’s disappointing defeat in South Yorkshire. I think there will be a few goals in this one.
