With reports that striker Bobby Reid was undergoing a medical at Cardiff City ahead of a proposed move, the Ashton Gate favourites departure was confirmed by Bristol City earlier today.

The 25-year-old passed his medical in South Wales and has agreed a new four year deal with Neil Warnock’s side as he gets a shot at life in the English top-flight.
Manager Lee Johnson admitted he was sad to see our former Academy graduate move on but he understood it in terms of him taking the opportunity to step up his game and test himself at the next level, so he leaves with the well wishes of everyone at the club.
He departs having made a total of 158 appearances for the club across all competitions and he returned 29 goals in that time. 21 of which came last season as Johnson gave him more of an attacking berth and outlook within the squad.
Reaction from the fans was mixed on what has been called an ‘undisclosed fee’ but it’s being widely reported as being in the ballpark of ÂŁ10million and whilst there’s some sadness at seeing him go, 2017/18 could be his standout season, so unlike Aden Flint, at least this is a good price when you factor everything in.
I’d rather have your £10m and not have to see him play us next year than West Brom’s £7m.
Had to be sold, I think we’ve got a good price, but that doesn’t make seeing him doing the head tappy thing any less hanging.
Deserves a shot at Premier League.

For me he’s not as good as Tammy Abraham so he may be in for a struggle at the top level, but he gives 100% and makes his own luck.
TBF this time last year we were discussing how lucky he was to have a job and how close he must have been to being released. Really came good ????????

This club is absolute shambles????????‍♀️

I wouldn’t get too excited-he has only done it for a year, previous to that he was a bit-part player albeit he had a fabulous season. Still a chance like Tomlin beforehand we have done best out the deal ????????

Good fee for the club but a bad professional move for the player. Joint a club which style of play won't suit him and will be a bench boy by Christmas cus of it and a good chance of being a championship player again in 1 year. ÂŁ30k a week will soften the blow I guess.
