Bristol Live have given an update on the potential departure of Bristol City striker Milan Djuric this summer.
With manager Lee Johnson keeping his options open on the forward, both acknowledging with his injury history at Ashton Gate a fresh start is always an option for a player, as is recouping investment for a club, and also restating how important he feels the 28-year-old would still be for us if we can keep him fit.
With the original bid from Italian Serie B side Salernitana being rejected, it appears they have now come back in with a second offer which Bristol Live say is in the region of £620,000 and discussions are ongoing.
That’s a significant loss to take on a player if Johnson feels he can still get something from him on the pitch. We’ll never break even on the reported £2million fee we paid – wage and extras included – but I would imagine the club would like their offer to get closer to the round million to at least limit further loss and maybe only take a 50% whack.
