City striker Steve Brooker claims the pressure is firmly on league leaders Stoke City ahead of Saturday’s match between the two clubs at the Britainia Stadium.

The Potters returned to top spot at the weekend after Liam Lawrence’s late goal saw off Coventry.

A win for Gary Johnson’s men would put the club on the brink of Premiership football with the season rapidly drawing to a close.

But Brooker, who made his first start for The Robins in nearly a year at the weekend, expects Tony Pulis’ side to be firm favourties going into the match.

‘Nerves do play a part when you’re top of the league, because no-one wants to make a mistake which might cost you the game,’ he revealed to the Bristol Evening Post.

‘But the psychology changes for us now that we’re the ones doing the chasing and not being chased.

‘Sure, we have to go there and win, but there will be a lot more pressure on Stoke in front of their own fans, because they’re now in a position where they have it all to lose.’
