Defender Louis Carey says City ‘deserve to be taken seriously’ saying that we are top on merit. He added, ‘We’ve been in the top six all season and I think some people forget that. It can’t be a fluke after 40-odd games. We’re where we are on merit. We’re not seen as genuine contenders but that has to change now. I think we deserve to be taken seriously when people talk about the race for automatic promotion.’

Meanwhile thisisbristol.co.uk have a report saying fans are flooding to get tickets to see City reach the Premier League.

Chief executive Colin Sexstone says sales have hit the roof, ‘We’ve had one-off games which have sold quickly in the past, but nothing quite like this. We have five games to go, one of which is already sold out, and another four which are selling fast. It looks as though we’ll be playing in front of capacity crowds for the rest of the season. During my time at the club, the only thing that compares was the 2004 League One play-off final at the Millennium Stadium. But we were only selling for one game and not four and we weren’t selling season tickets at the same time.’

Adding, ‘The club hasn’t seen support like this in nearly 30 years. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. If we do manage to win promotion to the Premier League, the demand for tickets is going to be even greater. It will take us into unknown territory.’

Tickets for home games against Wolves and Preston are now on general sale and tickets v Stoke and Sheffield United will be on general sale from Monday 7th April.
