Bristol City’s success with Tammy Abraham could work in the Robins’ favour in the future when it comes to the latest ‘teenage starlet’ at Chelsea, Callum Hudson Odoi.

The England U17 international, who recently committed to Chelsea on a three year deal amidst interest from Juventus and Benfica, according to the Daily Mail, is already being monitored by Bristol City.

A loan away from Stamford Bridge is expected in the next 18 months with the Robins, along with Championship rivals QPR, already ‘monitoring his progress’ with the view to a temporary deal.

Lee Johnson, who would hope the previous relationship with Chelsea and the job he helped in continuing Abraham’s development during his season at Ashton Gate, can work in Bristol City’s favour when the time comes for Hudson Odoi, 16, to go out on loan.

However, this wouldn’t happen this coming season, certainly not until January at the very least, as Johnson has already played down moves into the loan market until the turn of the year – that would be too soon even for player of Hudson Odoi’s apparent potential.
