Bristol City assistant manager John Pemberton says that Sean O’Driscoll and himself are determined to put together a side that will entertain fans at Ashton Gate.

The former Nottingham Forest coach says that the drop into league one will not see their sides resort to route one football which is associated with the lower leagues.

So this season the pair in charge are determined to get City back into the championship, but they will be doing it the stylish way.

Pemberton told the Bristol Post: ‘I’m confident that we can have a really positive effect on the team in the coming season, after speaking to Sean about his vision.

‘He wants to build a team that can be successful by passing the ball. I hope so. My glass is always half full, and I am excited about the challenge. If the plan was to smash the ball from back to front, I probably wouldn’t have made this move because I like the other side of the game.

‘Last season was difficult for everyone involved and, hopefully, now we can bring about the sort of changes that will help us go on and enjoy some success.’
