Bristol City have announced that they will be taking a short tour of Sweden as part of the build up to next season`s assault on the Championship.

IFK Gothenburg – July 13

Helsingborgs IF – July 15

Vallens IF – July 17

‘It is a popular tour location of mine, one I have done many times,’ Steve Coppell told the club`s official website.

‘I go to Sweden because they are in mid-season and matches are against teams possible not technically as good as us but fitness-wise they are ahead of us.

‘Physically it is a challenge. It is away so you can possibly experiment with a few things. If the objective on tour was to win then you probably wouldn’t train much.

‘Hopefully the players will be overloaded, training and playing more than they would do in normal circumstances. It is a lovely country, with fabulous food and great conditions. It is a nice place to be in the summer.’
