It’s becoming a regular thing that Bristol City play Gillingham in the Capital One cup and it happens again tonight at the Priestfield Stadium.

City will of course be hoping to break the stranglehold that Gills have over the Robins and a win would boost confidence for Saturday as well as set up a money spinning run in the competition. Something that would go down well with the board.

Anyone travelling can pay on the day at the turnstiles at the Priestfield and both sets of fans will be hoping to see their side win for the first time this season.

As for the teams, Gillingham’s Matt Fish is touch and go after picking up a knee injury just five minutes into Saturdays defeat at the hands of Colchester.

Charlie Allen will also be assessed after picking up a cut that got infected on the training ground in pre-season.

Myles Weston will be hoping to get a start after coming on against Colchester as a sub.

City will be without veteran defender Louis Carey who has suffered a dead leg while Sam Baldock will have a late test after picking up an Achilles knock.

Stephen Pearson has been told that he could face surgery on an ankle injury and Marlon Harewood could be on the bench after playing and scoring for the under 21 side at Reading on Monday.

Albert Adomah could be a Middlesbrough player if a medical went okay in the North East earlier today.
