Steve Cotterill thought that his side were unlucky to return to Ashton Gate with just a point, he thought they deserved all three.

Chambers gave Ipswich the lead early in the second half when he nodded home his first of the season.

But City refused to just back down and fought back which rewarded them with a goal from deflected goal from Freeman just before the hour mark.

Kodjia then put City in front when he lost his man and fired past Gerken.

But it was on-loan Fraser who was once again on the mark to give the home side a share of the points.

Cotterill told BBC Radio Bristol: ‘I think we should have won the game so I am a little disappointed to be honest.

‘If you had said to me we would come to Ipswich and get a point, I would have taken that. But once we went 2-1 up, we stopped playing and stopped passing the ball.

‘There is a tinge of disappointment as we have ended up bottom in the Championship.’
