Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill has set his players a target of finishing the season in the top ten of the league table.

That’s something that looked impossible a couple of months ago but Cotterill is now managing to get some improvement in the side showing and after Tuesday’s 3-1 win at Leyton Orient, Cotterill’s men sit in 17th place.

But should City managed to put one over Tranmere Rovers on Saturday; they stand a chance of being lifted three places up to 14th, depending on other results.

Cotterill told the Bristol Post: ‘If we can win on Saturday, we can take ourselves up to 14th place.

‘Once we get to 14th place, we must then see if we can focus on the top ten.

‘After that, who knows?’

In November City drew 1-1 with Tranmere at Prenton Park.
