Coventry City boss Steven Pressley praised his side’s character after they managed to pull off a 2-1 win at Ashton Gate last night.

As usual, the Robins only performed in the second half but they met up with a resolute Coventry defence who did very well in miserable conditions, conceding only once as Wes Burns scored with just eight minutes left on the clock.

In the first half the Sky Blues raced into the lead with a goal from Franck Moussa and when Andy Webster added the second, it left the Robins with a mountain to climb.

Pressley told reporters: ‘We played some great football in the first half and then showed tremendous character with our backs against the wall in the second half.

‘Facing such a strong wind, we were penned in at times, but I made a couple of tactical adjustments to help us defensively and I couldn’t be more proud of my players.’

Coventry now sit in tenth place in the league on 37 points, their next game is against Notts County at Meadow Lane on Saturday
