Reading striker Simon Cox is hoping to get off to a flyer when he makes his debut for Bristol City.

Cox joined the Robins on a loan deal that will keep him at Ashton Gate until January 3rd and his job is to bring some extra experience to City’s front line.

The player is hoping that his debut will come on Friday evening when City take on Nottingham Forest and he is hoping to fire in some goals that will help lift the Robins off bottom spot in the Championship table.

Cox has been training with his new team mates this week and has spoke about how there is a good team spirit throughout the camp even though the club are struggling for wins.

The Republic of Ireland international said to the official website: ‘You can see it’s a tight-knit group that believes in each other and comes in everyday wanting to learn and enjoys it. That’s a big thing for me because I like to come in and enjoy myself.

‘Settling in with a tight-knit group is quite easy as long as they take to you.

‘I’m quite a bubbly character so I’m not going to sit in the corner and not say ‘hello’ to anyone. Anything the lads are doing outside of training I’ll get involved in – I’m going to get stuck in.’
