City manager Derek McInnes was disappointed with the result at Forest on Saturday but saw enough in his side to have good hopes for the season in general.

A goal from Adlene Guedioura 20 minutes from the end of the game proved to be enough to give the home side all the points, but McInnes felt his side were unlucky to come away with nothing, although he did not think his side showed enough to have won the game.

And that was because of the failure to release the ball with any confidence in front of goal.

The City boss told Bristol City Player ‘It’s tough to take because we played well with a confidence.

‘I don’t think we did enough to go and win it, but in general we kept them at arm’s length and worked the ball well in possession.

‘It was just that final pass or shot that let us down, but there are plenty of positives to take from today. Overall we’re disappointed, because we did a lot that was good in the game.
