Assistant manager Tony Docherty did the speaking after Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at home to Charlton Athletic.

The Addicks hammered another early nail in the coffin of under pressure manager Derek McInnes, although his assistant did say that the boss was under no pressure.

But McInnes missed the post match press conference after the Robins had slipped to their seventh straight defeat of the season which keeps the side rock bottom of the Championship, needing at least four points plus goals to get out of the relegation places.

Danny Haynes and Michael Morrison scored the goals to give McInnes his latest headache, but according to Docherty, this bad form can be reversed.

‘We are not worried about the future because we believe in the players,’ he told reporters.

‘The club was in a worse position when we took over last season and we battled our way out of it. That will happen again.

‘The powers that be at the club have indicated they are behind us and there is no harder working manager than Derek so I am convinced we will turn things around.

‘We have the attacking players to score goals and just need to work even harder on the training ground to achieve that elusive clean sheet.’
