The draw for the third round of the League Cup, re-branded the EFL Cup this season, has been made with us among those finding out who we will be coming up against.

Football League clubs came into the competition (as always) in the first round. Most Premier League side came into this for the second round, with some upsets seen already this season those clubs who caused them will be looking to do the same in the third round.

Round three is of course when the remainder of the ‘big boys’ from the Premier League come into the mix, those that were granted a pass from round two. They then become further scalps all are looking to claim.

Dreams of League Cup glory remain on for some and will soon begin for others with the aim, as much as this competition isn’t as prestigious to many as it once was, to make it to Wembley and look to emulate Manchester City, who won this last season beating Liverpool in the final.

After the draw, made on Sky Sports, it is now known who stand between us and a place in the fourth round and that one step closer to the national stadium to compete for what will be the domestic trophy of the season decided.
