The EFL have now released the candidates for the December Goal of the Month competition for the Championship, League One and League Two.

December gave plenty of strikes to consider but the EFL have shortlisted three strikes from each division for the past month.

Voting for all divisions ends on Tuesday January 16.

The winners of the EFL Goals of the Month are chosen by a fan poll on Skysports.com and the shortlist for the poll is decided by a judging panel following suggestions from supporters via Twitter.

The judging panel is made up of Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, Sky Bet Sponsorship Manager David Tweed and EFL Senior Media Manager Rob Meaden.

December sees the following nominations.

Championship:

David Brooks – Sheffield United v Millwall (2nd December)
A visual delight as the 20-year-old combined with Mark Duffy to glorious effect. Duffy floated the ball into the path of Brooks, who controlled his tight-angled volley exquisitely.

Jamie Paterson – Bristol City v Sheffield United (8th December)
What a way to relieve the pressure on his side. Bursting into the attack, Paterson collected a square ball, slipped his way past a defender and arrowed home a searing low strike.

Adam Reach – Sheffield Wednesday v Nottingham Forest (26th December)
Not content with his November award, Reach was at it again on Boxing Day, connecting so powerfully with a bouncing clearance that the ball was still rising as it struck the net.

League One:

Shaun Whalley – Shrewsbury Town v Milton Keynes Dons (9th December)
Shown outside by a defender, Whalley seized the moment to drive past his man and, without a moment`s hesitation, connect with a 30-yard strike into the opposite top corner.

Mark Byrne – Gillingham v Bristol Rovers (16th December)
Training ground corner routines cannot be executed any better than this. Byrne sprinted into the area, judged the flight of the ball and perfectly timed a stunning volley on the run.

Graham Carey – Plymouth Argyle v Blackpool (30th December)
Carey combined determination and technique as he chased a flick-on. Running towards the corner flag, he swivelled and struck the sweetest of volleys into the far top corner.

League Two:

Jamal Campbell-Ryce – Barnet v Morecambe (16th December)
There seemed no danger when Campbell-Ryce got the ball near the touchline on halfway. That was until he strode forward, jinked inside, and curled home a sumptuous 30-yarder.

Callum Ainley – Crewe Alexandra v Crawley Town (16th December)
Collecting a raking pass near the by-line, the 20-year-old jinked inside a defender and left Crawley keeper Glenn Morris motionless with an arrowed shot into the far top corner.

Otis Khan – Yeovil Town v Morecambe (29th December)
Shielding the ball as drove towards the area, Khan exchanged passes with teammate Jake Gray, took one touch and then looped his unstoppable shot into the far corner.
