Ex-Celtic defender Mark Wilson has been given the chance to get his career back on track after being released by the Scottish giants at the end of last season.

The 28 year old has joined up with the Bristol City squad to try and impress boss Derek McInnes into offering him a contract with the club.

The Scotland international has joined up with the lads in Marbella where they are playing pre-season friendlies, if his trial is successful he may once again join McInnes who he worked with while at Dundee United.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Wilson said: ‘The lack of movement on the transfer front has been frustrating since leaving Celtic.

‘But I’ve known Derek since we played for Dundee United together and it was a no-brainer to join his team in Spain.
