Fontaine to decide on ankle injury

Bristol City have announced that Liam Fontaine will be out for the rest of the season, if the player decides now is the time to operate on his injured ankle.

With City’s fortunes improving on the pitch, boss Keith Millen has decided to let his left-sided defender have the final say.

“We’re going to leave the decision on Liam playing against Burnley until [Friday] and it just depends on how he is feeling,” Millen told www.bcfc.co.uk.

“If he says it’s too sore then we’ll press ahead with an operation on Monday.

“If he has an operation then that will be his season over.”
