Former City Defender Joins Shrewsbury

Former Bristol City defender Adam El-Abd has joined Shrewsbury Town on a two-year deal.

The 31-year-old was released by City at the end of the season after making 340 appearances in an 11-year spell.

El-Abd joins Mickey Mellon’s side to fill the gap left when Nathaniel Knight-Percival joined Bradford City.

Mellon admitted that he has long been an admirer of the Brighton-born player and was linked to him during the winter transfer window.
