With the City’s new stadium project at Ashton Vale gathering speed, the last thing we needed was for some numpty from the Blue Few to start whinging about how they should be involved.

City find out whether or not the council will grant us planning permission for the new 30,000 ground next month and Ian Holloway reckons the Gas should be part of it!

According to last night’s BBC show Inside Out West, Skullhead told viewers: “As a football club, you use your ground once a fornight normally so it doesn’t make sense to chuck all that finance at one thing you’re only gonna use once every other week.

“It shouldn’t be about ‘this is our ground and our group and we don’t like you,’ it should be a shared venture as it makes financial sense.

“Why can’t the council jump in with Bristol City and Bristol Rovers and give them a stadium which will be used every week?”

Well you dim-witted yokel, answer me this. Where we you in 1982? What do the Gas bring to the table now?

That lot tried to put us out of business in 1982 by stopping a council loan which would’ve saved us from hitting the wall. They were even eyeing Ashton Gate as a way back from their Trumpton slums in Bath.

Even to this day they refuse to back Bristol’s bid to be a host city for the 2018 World Cup.

I suggest Skeletor stick’s to playing with the donkeys on Blackpool beach than meddling in our affairs.

What do you lot think? Reds and blues? Personally, the day Bristol Rovers groundshare with us will be the day my support for the City ends. Over my dead body!
