Following yesterday’s clash between Bristol City and Cardiff City, here are the instant reactions from both managers.

Bristol City hosted Cardiff City at Ashton Gate for a 3pm kick off on Saturday November 4, with Bristol City taking a two one nil victory following goals by Callum O’Dowda and Aden Flint.

Bristol City:

Fielding, Smith, Flint, Baker, Magnusson, O’Dowda, Brownhill, Pack (Taylor 67), Bryan, Djuric, Reid (Woodrow 82).

Substitutes:

Steele, Eliasson, Vyner, Bakinson, Leko.

Cardiff:

Etheridge, Ecuele Manga, Morrison, Bamba, Paterson, Bryson (Tomlin 84), Ralls, Peltier, Mendez-Laing (Feeney 7, Ward 57), Hoilett, Bogle.

Substitutes:

Halford, Connolly, Damour, Murphy.

Speaking to the BBC’s cameras a short time after match day referee Mike Jones blew the final whistle, Bristol City manager Lee Johnson explained.

‘That’s nine points in a week, which included away games at Sunderland and Fulham. After those matches to go 12 rounds with a very strong Cardiff side and come out on top showed fantastic commitment and energy levels. We deserved to win. Every stat will tell you that. Everyone is playing for the cause, not the applause and the spirit in the group of players is fantastic. I am beaming with pride over the efforts of my players. We are still unfancied by a lot of people in the Championship this season, but we keep surprising them.’

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock explained in his comparitive interview.

‘Absolutely (red card) changed the game, but I go back to the 48th minute, the worst tackle of the game against Sol Bamba should have been a cert yellow against Marlon Pack. He’s already been booked, and (referee) has ignored it completely. I haven’t got a clue why he hasn’t booked him…he should have been off. They knew he should have been off. Yet straight away he does Bogle – you’ve got to give what the decisions are…and I was disappointed in those decisions today. They should have a man off.’
