Bristol City`s Ashton Gate ground will once again host international football when England Under-21s face Uzbekistan in a friendly on August 10th.

August 2007 was the last time the under 21 squad was at Ashton Gate, then 18,500 fans saw a 1-1 draw with Romania.

And with ticket prices at just £10 adults and £5 concessions, it`s a great way of seeing a good game of football featuring the stars of the future.

City’s managing director Doug Harman told BBC Radio Bristol: ‘We’re absolutely delighted to be welcoming the Under-21s back to Ashton Gate.

‘A lot of hard work has gone into gaining another showpiece fixture.

‘Stuart Pearce brought his team here three years ago and was very complimentary about the arrangements we had made and the state of the pitch.

‘He said that if he had the opportunity to bring them down again he would. Hopefully the Bristol public will turn out in force just like they did three years ago.

‘It’s a real showcase occasion for us. It’s good for the profile of the football club and it’s good for the city of Bristol.

‘It’s crucially important that we attract as many schools and other organisations to Ashton Gate. They can experience international football and hopefully they will become long-term Bristol City fans as a result.’
