Bristol City are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Bristol City in the three one victory over Aston Villa at the weekend at Ashton Gate was enough to see Johnson named as manager of the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Johnson was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Trailing Aston Villa 1-0 at half-time, whatever Johnson said to his City players at the interval worked wonders. The Robins came out flying after the break, turning the game on its head with two goals in three second-half minutes and going on to win 3-1.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Johnson for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Danny Ward (Huddersfield Town), Nedum Onuoha (Queens Park Rangers), Marc Roberts (Barnsley), Jamaal Lascelles (Newcastle United), Sam Foley (Port Vale), Marcus Maddison (Peterborough United), Sammie Szmodics (Colchester United), David Davis (Birmingham City), Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (Gillingham), Omar Bogle (Grimsby Town), Andy Williams (Doncaster Rovers).

Manager – Lee Johnson (Bristol City).
