Bristol City boss Lee Johnson was more than pleased with debut man Peter Odemwingie who joined City just ahead of the game with Fulham from Stoke City.

The Nigerian came on at half time and helped turn the game around for the visitors and helped to pressurise the Fulham defence.

And he could have been on the score sheet had it not been for a great block from Ryan Fredericks who stopped Odemwingie’s goalbound effort.

Johnson told PA Sport: “I thought tactically he was good. They went with a back three and he made it a back five really with his intelligent positioning.

“A couple of times he gave the ball away as he was running inside which luckily didn`t cost us and I thought he could have scored one, when he cut in on his right.

“But I just thought the maturity of his tactical play gave us a foothold and moved us up the pitch 15 yards.”

City are next in action on Saturday when they take on Bolton Wanderers at Ashton Gate.
