Bristol City gaffer Gary Johnson is contemplating shipping more fringe players out on loan in the coming weeks.

City currently have four players loaned out with John Akinde’s move to Wycombe last week following hot the heels of James Wilson (Brentford), Frankie Artus (Cheltenham) and, of course, fat-arsed Lee Trundle (Swansea).

Johnson told thisisbristol.co.uk: “The loan system is extremely useful, because it enables some of our younger players to get regular first team football, something they do not get here at the present time.

“We have a bigger squad this season and it’s difficult keeping everyone match fit when you don’t have regular reserve-team football.”

Christian Ribeiro, Adriano Basso, Tristan Plummer and Marlon Jackson are among those Johnson may consider loaning out ahead of the busy Christmas schedule.
