Johnson To Go In The Morning?

Clueless City boss Gary Johnson is on the brink of being sacked from his role as manager, after nigh on five years in charge.

The 54-year old had the latest of a series of bust-up’s with his players during the half-time break in Tuesday’s defeat to relegation bound Plymouth and it is believed uber-patient chairman Steve Lansdown has finally reached the end of his teather.

Johnson is believed to have initially been offered the chance to resign today before being officially dismissed, but the half-time skirmish is alleged to be serious enough to constitute a misconduct charge which would negate any compensation in what remains of his five-year deal signed in September 2008.

It must not be forgotten that Johnson has done a great job getting us to where we are today, an established Championship side, and for the run to the Play-Off Final in 2008. He sorted out a dressing room full of drunks and pre-madonna’s into a workman-like team of grafters.

But, it seems the spirit that made us has eroded over the last 18 months and he has fallen on his sword in regard to two things – his blind loyalty to his boy and his pig-headedness in recognising any faults and limitations within himself.

The players are expected to be given the news officially at a 9.30am meeting tomorrow morning before Lansdown makes an official statement to the media.

Thanks Gary, but please take your equally inept assistant Keith Millen with you, as well as your cab driving chief scout of a brother with you.

Au revoire Delboy!
