Bristol City pulled off a great win at the Matchroom Stadium on Tuesday night beating high flying Leyton Orient 3-1.

The win lifts the Robins clear of the drop zone by one point but sit in 17th position in the table due to having a better goal difference than Crawley, Tranmere and Crewe who have the same number of points. However, all three have games in hand.

The Robins took the lead with just three minutes gone; Sam Baldock was the man on the score sheet after he got on the end of a pass from Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and fired home.

And before Leyton Orient could recover, they were two down when Tyrone Barnett headed home a corner from Marlon Pack to leave the O’s shell shocked.

It could have got worse for the home side soon after that when Baldock had the ball in the back of the net again but the referee had blown for a foul on Shwan Jalal.

Orient were back in the game just before the half time whistle, a shot came in that Simon Moore could not hold and Lisbie had the loose ball in the back of the net for 2-1.

But City restored their two goal cushion in the second half when Aden Flint headed home.

And as the game drifted on, Dave Mooney could have made for a very interesting finish but his header went wide of the post and City hung on comfortably for a much needed win and boost up the table.
