Michael McIndoe has been speaking to his www.icons.com website.

‘We’re still unbeaten this season and that’s a great position to be in. Some people responded to our 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend by saying, ‘Well, Wednesday are struggling,’ but to win away to anybody in this league is a good result. And, in any case, Wednesday can’t be struggling after four games. They’ve not had a great start but they’re a decent team and their position at this stage of the season doesn’t mean a lot. We did what we had to against them. We were away from home and we defended well and took our chances. It might not have been beautiful football all the time but it was effective.’

‘One of the good things is that we haven’t really started to play to our potential and yet we are getting the points. I’m sure when we start playing as well as we know we can, we will be a match for anyone in the league. I’ve enjoyed the first few games and it’s lived up to all my hopes. I thought I’d enjoy coming to this part of the world and it was easier because I knew the gaffer. They really are a great set of lads here and they’ve made it very easy for me to settle in.’

And on the league, he added, ‘The last few years The Championship has been very strong and it’s a division where you have to battle hard every week. There isn’t a great deal to choose between any of the sides and on their day most teams can beat most others. We are certainly looking to follow in the footsteps of Reading, get promotion and survive in the Premiership. This club was in the top-flight many years ago and there is no reason why we can’t go back there. We know there is a lot of potential here and we can pull in a big crowd every week.’
