New Coventry winger Michael McIndoe has fired his usual parting shot at the latest club he has left, directing a rant at former manager Gary Johnson.

Speaking after his £500,000 move to the Ricoh Arena, the 29-year-old told the Daily Mirror: “Johnson said he wanted me to change the way I play, to either a left-wing back of a central midfield role, but I have been a left-winger throughout my career and that is my best position.

McIndoe has targeted former managers for similar outbursts in the past, most recently citing Mick McCarthy’s ‘lack of ambition` as the reason behind his move to the West Country. Wolves are now in the Premiership under McCarthy.

How long before Sky Blues fans will become frustrated with plenty of slow, probing runs down the left, one step over before either passing back to the left-back or putting over a cross that won’t beat the first defender?!

Time will tell.
