McInnes Cool On Transfer Speculation

City boss Derek McInnes has brushed off speculation over transfers that has appeared in the media of late.

The new City boss is being linked with a host of players while there is also talk of players leaving Ashton Gate for bigger things.

Nicky Maynard is targeted by several clubs and City have announced that he is for sale at the right price in January.

Fulham are rumoured to be after Albert Adomah and defender James Wilson is said to be a target for a few clubs.

McInnes himself is looking to bring in several Scottish players if you believe what you see in the papers and various websites, but the club warn fans that all the speculation is unsubstantiated.

McInnes said: ‘We have had no bids for any players. There have been one or two enquiries about players to go out on loan, but nothing concrete.

‘This is the time of year when everybody starts speculating and a lot of players have been linked with us in the media.

‘You can have a phone call from club to club or agent to agent and, all of a sudden, there is all this talk.

‘Our supporters will be the first to know about any ins and outs but, at the moment, it is all sheer speculation. I’m well aware there are a lot of players being talked about in connection with Bristol City and we cannot stop that.

‘I understand the speculation, because this is the one month during the season when business can be done and everyone starts second guessing.

‘There are some rumours I am well aware of and others I am not so well aware of. People who put rumours out there want to be proven right. But, whatever those people are saying, there have been no bids and we will have to wait and see what transpires over the next week or two.’
