McInnes Disappointed Despite Draw At Ipswich

Bristol City manager Derek McInnes saw his side earn a point away from home at Ipswich, but was still disappointed with the outcome of the game.

An overhead kick by Tommy Smith beat Tom Heaton in the City goal to give Ipswich an equaliser after the visitors had taken the lead through Neil Danns on 11 minutes.

It was a blow for City who could have won the game had they taken their chances that came along and McInnes was convinced that his side should have been awarded a penalty.

‘The amount of chances we created and passed up, we’re disappointed with only a draw,’ McInnes told the club’s official website.

‘I thought we were outstanding in the first half and carved out plenty of chances.

‘We got caught from a set piece, losing the first header, but aside from that we were by far the best side. We just need to be clinical. We had two big penalty claims. We lost a penalty against Blackpool for less than the shouts we saw today. We’re disappointed with that. ‘
