Derek McInnes was left more than happy with his side’s display against Cardiff on Saturday and now believes that his team has a ‘cutting edge’ about it.

City scored four for the second game in a row to beat Cardiff with a couple of goals for Martyn Woolford, one for Stephen Pearson and one for Sam Baldock which rounded off a vintage display by the Robins.

While McInnes was happy with his lot, he also knows that it is still early season and there is a long way to go.

McInnes said to the Press Association: ‘We are getting goals from the middle of the park, which we didn’t do last season and now have some great options up front.

‘With Sam and Steve on board, we have a lot of different strikers, who pose threats in various ways. All the clubs I have been at, who were successful, had good strength in depth when it came to strikers.

‘We will not get carried away because we know how quickly things can change, but all credit to the players for the work they have put in so far.’
