Bristol City manager Derek McInnes has set himself the task of bringing in a new defender before the Robins take on Hull City on Saturday.

City were short at the back as it was with Louis Carey and Lewin Nyatanga both injured, but it`s a lot worse now that James Wilson has a ban to serve after his red card against Leeds on Saturday.

Now McInnes can bring in a player on an emergency loan and he revealed that he is already on the case.

He told the club’s official website: ‘I was looking to bring in a defender anyway but it’s certainly something that becomes more apparent now.

‘We’ve targeted someone we’d like to bring in and all being well we’ll have that someone in time for the Hull game.

‘However, I stress there’s still work to be done before we can get it signed and sealed.’
