Bristol City manager Derek McInness left Hull a pretty miserable man after seeing another pretty miserable performance from his side.
City went down 3-0 in this encounter, the lead coming on just 13 minutes for Hull. Hobbs dived in to deflect his header past David James and all of a sudden; the Robins were in a battle.
But just two minutes later the story was even worse for City when a cross from Hobbs found Koren in acres of space and he headed past James to make it 2-0 and wipe away any slim chance City had of getting back into it.
But the visitors did try, Albert Adomah hit the crossbar with a shot and when Stephen Pearson followed it up, his effort was stopped on the line by Dawson.
Then on 61 minutes, Fryatt slotted the ball home after latching onto a pass from Koren. He had wasted a couple of good chances before he scored, but in the end he claimed himself a rare goal.
Bristol City boss Derek McInnes said that his side had struggled to get to grips with the poor playing conditions.
He said: ‘It is the worst pitch we have played on all season, but it was the same for both teams.
‘I feel for Hull playing on that pitch as they are a good footballing team and it doesn’t do them any favours.
‘The team that made the fewest mistakes was going to win the game and slack bits of play from us gave them two early goals.
‘We wanted to impose ourselves, but everything we were trying to do went out of the window with those two goals – free headers in the box.
‘There were chances at both ends and we showed plenty of effort in the second half, but it was too little too late as it was always going to be an uphill struggle.’
