Trialist Mark Wilson was in the side for the win over Kilmarnock last night, he came on as a sub after recovering from a slight groin strain picked up in Scotland.

The former Celtic defender has impressed Derek McInnes in training and now he has the chance to impress while under match conditions.

The 28 year old has a wealth of experience to bring to Ashton Gate if City were to sign him, he has won eight trophies while with the Parkhead based side.

But McInnes is not giving anything away as to whether he might offer Wilson a contract or not.

‘I’ve always been a big Mark Wilson fan,’ the manager told Bristol City Player. ‘But I must stress it is not a position that is really key for us at the minute.

‘We took him to Spain and he worked hard over there but he picked up a little groin strain which needed five or six days rest.

‘He joined up with us again on Sunday and he only stays ten minutes away from where we are based, so we are more than happy to have a look at him.”
