Bristol City manager Derek McInnes believes that his side have been playing alright within the confines of his tactics.

But the results say different, his side have lost five out of the last six games and are now in very grave danger of waving goodbye to the Championship via the back door.

The Scott has been criticised by City fans for some tactics that have certainly left a lot to be desired, they believe that things have got to change if City are to avoid the drop.

Two of the things that were questioned at the end of the defeat at home to Blackpool last week was why did he play 4-3-3 and why was Brett Pitman left out of the starting line up.

McInnes told the Bristol Evening Post: ‘I’m picking a team to get results and the most important thing is the club rather than individuals. There is not a problem with the formation and, for me, 4-3-3 was the best way to play against Blackpool.

‘It was good enough last week for West Ham, a team at the top of the league, who won 4-1 at Blackpool and stopped them playing and passing the ball through them.

‘As far as I’m concerned, 4-3-3 does not favour Brett Pitman. I’m certainly not going to be constantly asked the same question. I’ll pick the team that I think is right to do the job.’
