Gary Johnson`s seat at Ashton Gate hasn`t cooled down yet and already there is speculation as to who is to fill the void.

The bookies are favouring Alan Curbishley at the moment, but he seems to get linked with every job that becomes available.

Another name that is being bandied about is Phil Brown who was recently dumped by Hull City, again, that`s also a name that could have been just drawn from a hat.

The Telegraph comes up with an interesting idea today that George Burley could be the man to set the Robins back on track. He has been keeping himself to himself since his international reign with Scotland came to an end, but recently he has been seen at various grounds in England and he is said to be very interested in a return to management.

Burley’s tenure with Scotland came to an end after a 3-0 friendly defeat by Wales in Cardiff and he has kept a low profile since.

However, he has been attending games in England in the past few weeks and is ready to return to the world of club management.

When asked if he would be interested in Bristol City, Burley said: ‘They’re a great club who are looking to get to the Premier League, but obviously there are a lot of people looking for jobs in football at the moment.

‘However, anybody with ambition and experience would have to say they’re a club which would interest them.’
