If the rumour mill is to be believed today, it appears Aden Flint will have left Ashton Gate for the last time as he is reportedly undergoing a medical with Middlesbrough.
Speculation about the future of the 28-year-old centre-half has been ongoing for a while and it’s long been believed that Tony Pulis had an interest in him. It seems his chase is now successful with Sky Sports reporting today that he’s in Middlesbrough completing his medical before personal terms are discussed and agreed upon.
They say their ‘sources’ suggest that the deal is in the region of £7million, which is a slight uplift on the reported £6million offer we rejected from Brighton back in the January transfer window, so certainly good business from our end for a man we only paid £300,000 for back in 2013 when he made the switch from Swindon Town.
243 starting appearances later, an additional three showings from the bench and he would depart with 38 goals contributed from the heart of defence in the years since.
Good business or not, fans seem less than impressed.
We are becoming a laughing stock the guy signed a new contract in Jan. Will be Bryan / Reid next. I thought we were a club hungry for success ???

Lansdown is a hypocrite. Boring, Viva Bristol Sport.

It does my head in…they say they want prem football, but we sell all our best players to Championship clubs ffs, then replace them with “ones for the future” or old timers. Seems as tho they want one lucky season for us to get there rather than going for it

I thought last season club said no less than 10 million?!? He's signed a long term contract so we don't need to sell for pennies!!!! If this is true then very disappointed.

That’s a steal for Boro

That can't be good value for @BristolCity considering the recent contract?!

If it’s true I’m so surprised that you’d let him go so cheaply, rate him very highly & he’s zipped up our centre forwards in the last two games we’ve played at your place, was hoping he’d be our number one target this summer and thought we’d have to play around 10million #Boro

Why sell flint for that amount …… shows lack of ambition

Shocking. Just signed a new long term deal £5 mil for him is a utter joke. Should be £10 mil+.
