Caretaker manager Keith Millen has revealed how new manager Steve Coppell is already working on summer recruits despite being on holiday in the US.

The pair are in daily contact trying to recruit new blood to a squad that is massively unbalanced at the moment.

“We cannot afford to be slow off the mark and, if there are one or two targets Steve wants and they are available, it makes sense to bring them in sooner rather than later,” Millen told the Bristol Evening Post.

“We’re not that far down the line just yet, but it makes sense to go for them early rather than risk losing them.

“He (Steve) has his ideas about what he wants and there will probably be three or four new faces over the summer.”

City are believed to be on the hunt for a left-back, left-winger, commanding centre-half and a target man this summer.
