Bristol City boss Keith Millen knows that some hard work has to be done on the Robins frailties at the back if they are to start climbing the npower Championship table.

City have conceded ten goals in four league and cup games and have so far failed to keep a single clean sheet.

Last time out, they let in three against Barnsley but managed to come from behind twice in the game to take a point in a 3-3 draw at Ashton Gate last weekend.

“I keep on hammering home the need for defenders to stay on their feet but the message does not seem to be sinking in,” said Millen.

“We have talked time and again about not going to ground in and around the penalty area and yet it has cost us twice in the last two games.

“Players need to try to stay on their feet for as long as possible. If they don’t then they run the risk of being punished for it.

“Individually and collectively we were not good enough and I cannot let it go. It is something we have been working on in training this week and we will go on working on it until we get it right.

“Conceding goals was our biggest problem last season and you cannot let in three in every game and hope to be a successful side.

“We will work on a shape and a pattern of play for the Ipswich game this weekend and do everything we can to put it right.”

Millen announced earlier this week that any further recruits to his depleted squad were doubtful before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
