Keith Millen has been named the nPower Championship Manager of the Month, for the first time in his career.
The 44-year-old guided City to three wins and a draw from our five games in November, claiming ten points in the process to move the Robins clear of the bottom three.
While Millen was happy to received the plaudits for his maiden gong, he insisted nothing had been achieved yet and that more hard work lies ahead if we are to continue to climb away from danger.
“As always with this award, a manager accepts it on behalf of his coaching staff and players,” Millen told bcfc.co.uk.
“It is certainly nice to be recognised in this way but it is down to the whole team and not just one person.
“The performances in November have certainly improved our position in the league table and it is important we now build on that and continue our move up the division.”
Former Charlton boss Alan Curbishley chairs the Manager of the Month panel, and admits Millen was the standout candidate last month.
Speaking to the Football League website, Curbs said: “Bristol City enjoyed a fantastic month which saw them push out of the relegation places.
“The win at Swansea – plus their unbeaten home record for November – ensures they are heading into the busy winter schedule in fine form.”
Meanwhile, City centre-back Steven Caulker was runner-up to Doncaster striker James Hayter in the nPower Championship Player of the Month.
