New Penalty Taker Needed

City striker Nicky Maynard might not be the man in line to take the Robins` next penalty after he missed a spot kick at Elland Road on Saturday.

Maynard was awarded the spot kick after he was felled in the area 64 minutes into the game with Leeds, but his effort was a bit on the weak side which allowed the Leeds keeper to save.

Add to that his penalty miss against Leicester City and you can half understand Keith Millen losing faith in the top scorer.

Millen told the Bristol Evening Post: ‘I will consider other players when we next get a penalty.

‘Nicky is our leading goalscorer and our regular penalty taker, but he has missed two now.

‘He has put himself up to take them, which is great, but he cannot afford to keep missing them, because it costs the team. No-one means to make mistakes or miss chances, but a change (in penalty taker) might be needed to change our luck.’
