Bristol City boss Steve Coppell thinks that his side is good enough to be in with a shout of promotion this coming season along with the favourites to go up.

Although there will be big clubs like Leeds, Forest and Norwich to contend with next term, he sees the Championship being one of the tightest run divisions of late.

Speaking to the Bristol Evening Post, he said: ‘It’s going to be very open this time. Ordinarily a good Championship vintage involves two or three top teams dominating and winning promotion, but I don’t think it will be like that next season.

‘The teams that have come down have well-documented problems off the field and I don’t see them having things all their own way.

‘Leeds and Norwich have come up and are big clubs that will be expected to challenge quickly, but are not going to be able to do what West Brom and Newcastle did. All in all, it looks like being one of the most open campaigns for many years.’
