Crawley manager Steve Evans said that his side deserved to with the FA Cup tie against Bristol City by a bigger margin than just 1-0.
Crawley did always look more up for it than City, who themselves have an history of going out in round three.
The game was eventually won with a goal from Matt Tubbs 17 minutes from the end, but Crawley had seen more chances go begging and had hit the post twice before finding the net.
Evans said: ‘I think we did deserve it. We did our homework, we got our tactics right. I was disappointed not to be at least two-up at the interval.
‘It wasn’t much of a teamtalk at half-time, it was just keeping our discipline, keeping our shape and hope for a bit of luck.
‘We haven’t had any luck today but Tubbsy went through and scored and maybe on another day we would have won more emphatically.’
