Former City right-back Bradley Orr believes it is only a matter of time before the Robins begin to climb the table.

Orr, who joined QPR in the summer, made his first visit back to Ashton Gate as an unused substitute in Friday’s 1-1 draw with the early pacesetters.

And the likeable Scouser revealed City will always be close to his heart.

“I’ve been keeping a close eye on events at Ashton Gate and obviously I will always look for Bristol City’s results,” he told bcfc.co.uk.

“I want the team to do well. It was a terrific result over Reading last week and another really good performance against us.

“I’ve no doubts that Milly and the boys will turn it around. Two or three good results in this league and a team at the bottom can shoot up to ninth or tenth place.

“I’ve been in that position before and I know what it’s like. I’ve every trust in the lads that they will get out of it.”

Orr has found himself playing second fiddle to on-loan defender Kyle Walker in recent weeks but admits it was strange to be back as part of the opposition.

“It was strange coming back and walking into the away dressing room,” he added.

“It would have been nice to have got out on to the pitch but I understand how football works. It wasn’t to be but I’m sure I’ll have another chance to run out at Ashton Gate in the future.

“I was treated really well by all the fans and staff. I’d love Bristol City to do well and wish them all the best in the future.”
