Delighted Bristol City boss Sean O’Driscoll was full of praise for his players after they pulled off a 2-1 win against Ipswich at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

The Robins had a lot to make up for after going down 4-0 to Leicester City in their previous game.

And things began to look bleak again when Ipswich took the lead after just 14 minutes.

But City did not give up and came back through Steven Davies and then completed the turnaround lat on when Jon Stead handed the Robins their first win in five games.

Speaking to the Bristol Post after the game, O’Driscoll said: ‘It is always hard to get off the mark at home when you come to a new team and we had to weather a bit of a storm and change tactically to get the result.

‘I’m just delighted with the players’ attitude and character. As I said in my programme notes, ability is all very well, but you need characters as well.

‘When things went against them, they stuck together and showed great application. Goals change games and, to get the equaliser so soon after half time, gave everyone a boost.’
